ONE Plus
Architecture provides general architectural services to commercial,
institutional, governmental and residential clients. Our focus is
on assisting our clients to realize their individual facility
needs. We do not specialize in any particular building type.
Instead, we strive to develop a team relationship with the client.
They are the expert on their facility and operational needs. We
utilize that expertise, along with our design and construction
experience, to arrive at a product that more closely reflects their
needs and expectations rather than some external specialization
paradigm.
Founded in 1999, ONE Plus has provided new construction,
additions and interior modification and build-out services to a wide
variety of building types including dental, rehabilitation and
veterinary clinics, restaurants, coffee shops and bars, office
buildings, travel and insurance agencies, public and parochial
schools, court houses, churches, multi-family and single family
residences.
Joe Powelka, AIA and President of ONE Plus Architecture has over
30 years of architectural design and building evaluation
experience. First registered in Iowa, Joe is registered
additionally in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois and Massachusetts and
maintains NCARB accreditation. A majority of his practice
experience had dealt with energy conscious design and building
operational efficiencies. While Joe has been advocating
green/sustainable design since the early 1980's, he recognizes the
importance of a client arriving at their own understanding of what
is important for their building. The clients
new or remodeled building must reflect their needs, expectations and
values and not necessarily those of the architect.
